Morning, guys! You’ll all totally fall for Emily + David’s Austin wedding at The Addison Grove (Texas friends, have you been?). As if the *insane* portraits by Feather & Twine Photography (sneak peek above—just you wait) weren’t enough, every detail of their nature-inspired nuptials was in perfect harmony with the venue. And did we mention that these two got engaged while on a hike in the woods? Needless to say, an intimate sunlit wedding full of earth tones and spring blooms could not have been a better fit.
Fun fact about our bride’s Leanne Marshall gown: She actually talked to the shop directly to express her vision. Surprisingly, they had a concept dress in her size that was exactly the style and cut she wanted. It’s ivory and hand-dyed for a super subtle ombre effect with the ivory fading to blush in the skirt and train. Lucky gal!
Emily says, Our wedding was completely inspired by nature. We wanted to incorporate the greenery from our venue as much as possible and keep everything very natural and neutral. Our colors were ivory and grey, with hints of green and blush. We love the outdoors and wanted a smaller, intimate wedding (with 66 guests), so we felt that every aspect of our wedding represented us perfectly. Simple, minimal, natural, and fun! When it came to the bridesmaid dresses, Emily was completely overwhelmed. There were so many options, yet nothing felt quite like it would please everyone. Luckily, she came across Revelry, who just so happens to be based in Austin. The owner of the company even invited her to come see them in person and she was sold!
Okay, talk about a good wedding party portrait sesh. What did we tell ya?
And this view right here? It’s what sold them on The Addison Grove in Austin. So pretty.
My bouquet was stunning and smelled so fresh. It had a variety of Garden Roses, Dahlias, filled with Larkspur, Delphinium, Queen Anne’s Lace, Olive Tree Branches, and a variety of Eucalyptus! I pressed most of the bouquet afterward so I still have some of the flowers! The bridesmaids’ bouquets were all greenery with Chocolate Queen Anne’s Lace for subtle neutral color and texture.
Can you tell that these two were both art majors in college (where they met)?! Joyful Details and Clementine Botanical Art helped them bring their relaxed, nature-inspired vision to life.
Love the light in here…
Emily walked down the aisle to Bob Dylan’s Girl From The North Country and their first dance was to Neil Young’s Harvest Moon.
One last fun memory: During their sendoff, Emily’s sister + brother-in-law surprised them by playing an original song on guitar that they danced to in the mist of the smoke bombs and sparklers.
Cheers!
