Here on the West Coast, it’s easy enough for us to imagine ourselves exploring the beautiful California venues we see in our inboxes. But it’s extra intriguing to find a gorgeous place to tie the knot allll the way across the country at a place like Magnolia Plantation & Gardens in Charleston, SC. Who wouldn’t want to learn all about the little pockets of beauty in places near and far? Word on the street is that this is Charleston’s most visited plantation and one of America’s most beautiful gardens. We’re thinking you’ll be as smitten as we are once you see the romantic editorial Chloe Luka Photography and Bridget Davis Events sent our way…
Bridget says, Entering the narrow drive to Magnolia Plantation & Gardens, the property is lined by Spanish moss trees. A preview of what’s to come on the plantation, boasting the oldest public gardens in the United States. The rows of trees create the most magical ambiance; sunlight trickles in through natural shading as limbs cross over one another above.
How about this for a romantic spot to say I Do? The Social Spool created custom draping to enhance the natural backdrop and Noah of The Bearded Florist added garlands of greenery.
The florals sprinkled throughout the vignette included garden roses, spray roses, ranunculus, peonies, delicate red orchids and other local blooms.
The team wanted to create a graceful, romantic Southern wedding for a classic, fine art bride seeking to modernize her garden wedding. Think soft details and dreamy hues to complement the surrounding landscape.
We chose to dine under the shade, adding elements of floating, hanging floral by The Bearded Florist. This custom installation emulated the abundant Spanish moss on the property, adding weeping green elements to draw the floral into the tablescape—a show-stopping piece to an inviting and elegant dinner setting. Guests were welcomed to dinner with perfect mini coconut cakes from Delicious Desserts, as well as a sparkling and still rosé to complement the gentle elements of the table. What’s better than dessert first? Dessert with rosé!
Don’t forget a getaway car, Cakies!
